2026 MPRINT Annual Conference

Dr. Pouria Fattahi was invited to present at the 2026 MPRINT Annual Conference in the session Human Relevant Organoids and Tissue Chips as New Approach Methodologies for Advancing Perinatal Pharmacotherapeutics. His presentation highlighted the laboratory’s Placenta-on-a-chip platform, a bioengineered model designed to investigate maternal fetal exposure and placental function. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss emerging human relevant models and connect with researchers advancing translational tissue chip technologies.

Dr. Pouria Fattahi presented his Placenta-on-a-Chip research at BMES 2025, showcasing a microengineered model of maternal–fetal exchange and environmental exposure. The study, integrating metabolomic profiling, has been accepted for publication in Nature Biomedical Engineering.

The Fattahi Lab officially opened its doors on August 1, 2025, at the University of Georgia. Our research focuses on advancing microengineered human models to investigate exposure, development, and health. We look forward to building an interdisciplinary environment that pushes the boundaries of biomedical engineering and fosters innovation in organ-on-chip technologies.
