Pouria Fattahi, Ph.D.
Pouria Fattahi is an Assistant Professor at the School of Chemical, Materials, and Biomedical Engineering and the Regenerative BioScience Center at the University of Georgia. He earned his B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology and completed his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Bioengineering at Pennsylvania State University under Drs. Justin L. Brown and Peter J. Butler. He then trained as a postdoctoral fellow at the Mayo Clinic with Dr. Alexander Revzin, focusing on stem cell microencapsulation and microfluidic co-culture systems. During the pandemic, he joined Dr. Dan Huh’s lab at the University of Pennsylvania, where he developed advanced organ-on-a-chip models of the human lung and placenta to study toxicant exposures. His work has been recognized with awards including the CEET Mentored Scientist Transition Award and the Amnion Foundation Seed Grant.
